Annual Fall Leaf Pick up

The Village of New Paltz will begin their annual leaf pick up throughout the Village on November 3, 2025 for a two-week period. We will start the pick up on the north side November 3, 2025 to November 7, 2025. We will start on the south side November 10, 2025 to November 14, 2025.
If bagging leaves, only biodegradable bags will be accepted.
BAGGED OR LOOSE LEAVES ONLY SHOULD BE PLACED AT
CURBSIDE.
Biodegradable bags can be purchased from the Village of New Paltz at 25 Plattekill Avenue Mon. – Fri. 9am to 4pm
for the price of $2.50 per five pack.

Notice: Road Closures and Delays Due to Sewer Work

Please be advised that ongoing sewer work will result in road closures and traffic delays on the following streets in the Village of New Paltz from Tuesday, October 14, 2025, through Friday, October 24, 2025:

  • Harrington Street
  • North Front Street at Route 32 North
  • Church Street (from North Front Street to Henry W. Dubois Drive)

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve our infrastructure. Please plan accordingly and consider alternate routes where possible.

Notice: Upcoming Road Work for Water Main Replacement and Repair

As part of the continued water main replacement and repair project, the following road work is scheduled:

North Chestnut Street
October 13–17, 2025

  • Crews will be installing full-depth blacktop in trench areas to prepare for final paving.
  • No road closures
  • No water shut-offs

Traffic control will be in place

South Chestnut Street
October 15–17, 2025

  • Milling and paving will be performed.
  • North end of South Chestnut will be closed with a detour in place
  • Traffic control on the remaining open section
  • No water shut-offs
