Public Comment Invited

The Design Review Board & Historic Preservation Commission of the Village of New Paltz invites comments from the public as it reviews architectural plans for a major restoration of the historic Ann Oliver House at 5 Broadhead Avenue. The Ann Oliver House is currently a Village-owned property, but it is slated to become the home of the Maragaret Wade Lewis Center. Review will begin at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Monday, July 14 in the downstairs meeting room of Village Hall, located at 25 Plattekill Avenue. Written comments emailed to hpc@villageofnewpaltz.gov will also be accepted until 7:00 p.m. July 14.

The Margaret Wade-Lewis Center (MWLC) at the historic Ann Oliver House preserves the Black experience in the Hudson Valley using the lens of free and enslaved lives in Ulster County, New York. The Mission of the Center is to engage, empower, educate, and heal the community through history and culture.
